Vitamin and mineral-rich green from Middle Eastern, North and East African cuisines. Eating like spinach chopped in soup or stew. It has thickening properties. Also used for fiber to make twine, ropes, or rugs. Seeds of Molokhia (Mlukhiyie) came from Palestine. Leaves can be removed from the stem and frozen for storage.
