Like Common Milkweed, Butterfly weed has a medicinal tradition in Native Amercian practice. It must be carefully prepared, because it’s curative abilities are related to it’s mild toxicity. Monarch butterflies aren’t affected by the toxicity, and eat Milkweed to ward off predators. There are many traditional uses and preparations. Grows 10 -12″ with orange flowers.
