Black Knight Scabiosa

Dramatic, heirloom hardy annual “pincushion flower” grown since the 1600s for its deep, near-black crimson blooms and sweet honey fragrance.  Used both for fabric dying, blueish-green through purple and pink dyes vary with mordant choice and acidity of dye bath. and for traditional medicinal applications.
